Iranian Artists Forum (IAF) is to celebrate the birthday of the late Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami.
IAF announced in a press release that the ceremony plans to screen a short film showing different scenes from Kiarostami’s movies and one of his latest interviews.
Many of Kiarostami’s friends and colleagues have been invited to the event to honor the memory of the legendary Iranian director.
Abbas Kiarostami, who departed this life in July 2016, was a famed Iranian film director, whose ‘Taste of Cherry’ grabbed the Palme d’Or at the 1997 Cannes Film Festival.
He is mostly known as a screenwriter, film editor, art director and producer as well as a poet, photographer, painter, illustrator, and graphic designer.
The cinematic works by the internationally acclaimed filmmaker have been hailed by various festivals around the world.
